About

The BadgerWelcome to Badger Trades! My name is Tony Hargraves, better known as The Badger around trading  circles.

I started trading in 2004 after a friend requested I find a way to back all events in a match and win regardless of the result. The resulting Google search found Betfair which was not well known in Australia and the rest is history.
We opened accounts and played with the numbers and now consider it the only way to operate in the sports betting industry.

I lived in Australia until 2008 when I moved with my wife and two daughters to Scotland to be able to trade live sports without having to phone Betfair.

I became a full time trader in early 2008 and combine my trading with teaching via trading courses and have written a  book on trading.
I have had experience in spread betting and arbitrage and find neither of those as interesting as sports trading.

I have spent the two years in Scotland getting involved with the UK trading community, making many friends and great contacts in the trading business. I have joined numerous forums, and enjoy helping people get started on their trading journey. It is an exciting new concept to many and the realisation of how it is possible to make money from trading sports while the game is actually in play really opens the eyes of a lot of people that have grown up just popping into the bookies and having a tenner on their team.

I started doing trading courses in 2009 after getting many requests to teach people what they were seeing in the videos I had produced for Racingtraders. They have proved to be very popular and I am now doing more training than trading and the vast majority have seen a real improvement in their results. I deliver the course numerous ways, either in the clients’ home or via Skype.

I have had people fly in from Europe and fly and drive all over the UK for the courses and all have had an enjoyable day. I do groups or individual courses and really enjoy meeting the people in person.

I have also been running a trading advice service since 2008 and have close to 500 members involved in that. Once again it started by posting the trades I would be doing on the Racingtraders forum and people just took a great interest and wanted to get involved.
My main trading focus is on Pre-race trading on the U.K horse market and international cricket trading. Football is my other serious trading sport. But I do cover all sports.
I also started a live trading chat room for Racingtraders members in Paltalk and have close to 100 regular members enjoying the live environment that a forum does not provide. We will be expanding that in 2010. Racingtraders were the first to do this as well and now several other groups are endeavouring to copy our lead and start their own.

Finally in 2010 I will be starting an elite mentoring group for those that want to take their trading to the next level. That has 60 members ready to be involved already and is closed for application but I am taking details of interested parties should a space arise.

So exciting times ahead, I am proud to be involved with Racingtraders and BetTrader Evolution and look forward to a very successful 2010.
